As birds struck a FedEx plane heading for Dubai shortly after takeoff on Saturday, a major emergency was declared at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, according to airport officials.

According to airport officials, the FedEx plane was struck shortly after takeoff. They stated that the emergency had been called in order for the jet to land and for experts to examine it for any technical issues before being cleared.

The plane has now been cleared for flying, according to a statement from the Department of General Aviation.
