Lucknow:* The Uttar Pradesh government has presented a record-breaking budget of *₹9,12,696.35 crore for the financial year 2026–27, marking a *12.9% increase over the previous year. Strong Push for Farmers and Agriculture

Agriculture remains at the core of the budget. The state recorded historic sugarcane payments of over ₹3.04 lakh crore, surpassing payments made in the last 22 years combined.

  • Increase of ₹30 per quintal in sugarcane prices
  • Free electricity for irrigation via tube wells
  • ₹10,888 crore allocation for agriculture (20% rise)
  • Expansion of solar pumps and natural farming
