Bihar court issues arrest warrant against Ekta Kapoor, her mother

Ekta Kapoor, a film producer and director, and her mother Shobha Kapoor were given arrest warrants on Wednesday by a court in Begusarai, Bihar, for allegedly disrespecting soldiers and hurting their family members’ feelings in her web series “XXX” (Season-2).

The warrant was Issued by the court of judge Vikas Kumar in response to a complaint made by Begusarai resident and ex-serviceman Shambhu Kumar.

In his 2020 lawsuit, Kumar claimed that Season 2 of the series “XXX” contained a number of offensive scenes involving a soldier’s wife.

The series was shown on ALTBalaji, an OTT service run by Balaji Telefilms Ltd., a company controlled by Ekta Kapoor. Shobha Kapoor is also connected to Balaji Telefilms, according to Kumar supporter Hrishikesh Pathak.

The court had summoned the Kapoors and demanded that they appear in court in relation to the situation. However, they (the Kapoors) told the court that some of the series’ sequences were cut after the objection. However, they failed to show up in court, and as a result, a warrant was issued for their arrest,’ Pathak continued.
