The Inspiring Journey of Shraddha Gome: From CLAT Topper to IAS Officer

In an era where academic excellence and perseverance define success stories, Shraddha Gome stands out as a remarkable example. Hailing from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Shraddha’s journey to becoming an IAS officer is both inspiring and exemplary. Her story is a testament to hard work, dedication, and the power of dreams.

Shraddha’s academic journey began at St. Raphael’s H.S. School in Indore, where she excelled by topping both her 10th and 12th-grade exams. Her early achievements laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors. Inspired by her mother, Vandana, a homemaker, and guided by her father, Ramesh Kumar Gome, a retired SBI officer, Shraddha was determined to carve out a path of excellence.

Her next milestone was the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), where she emerged as the topper, securing a coveted spot at the prestigious National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore. Her time at NLSIU was marked by extraordinary achievements, as she was awarded 13 gold medals at her convocation by the then Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra. This recognition was a testament to her dedication and prowess in the field of law.

After completing her legal education, Shraddha joined Hindustan Unilever Ltd as a legal manager. She was a part of the esteemed Unilever Future Leaders Program, which took her to London and Mumbai. Her role at Hindustan Unilever was both challenging and enriching, providing her with invaluable experience and insights into the corporate world.

Despite a promising career in law, Shraddha felt a calling towards public service. Driven by a desire to contribute to society, she decided to pursue the UPSC examination, choosing law as her optional subject. Demonstrating remarkable courage and determination, she quit her job to focus entirely on her preparation, opting to study without any coaching.

Shraddha’s preparation was rigorous and disciplined. She dedicated 9-10 hours daily to her studies, balancing her intense preparation with leisure activities. “Even while preparing for UPSC, I watched movies, read my favorite books, played badminton, and spent time with my family. But when I sat down to study, I was fully focused—no TV, no mobile, no distractions,” she shared in an interview. Her holistic approach to preparation ensured she remained motivated and stress-free.

Her dedication bore fruit when she appeared for the UPSC exam in 2021, clearing it on her first attempt with an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 60. This achievement marked the beginning of her journey as an IAS officer, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and commitment.

Currently, Shraddha Gome serves as the Assistant Collector in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Her leadership and dedication continue to inspire many aspiring civil servants. Beyond her professional commitments, Shraddha actively engages with her followers on social media, where she has garnered a following of 17.8k on Instagram. Her presence on social media serves as a source of motivation and guidance for those who look up to her journey.

In conclusion, Shraddha Gome’s story is a powerful reminder that with perseverance, dedication, and the right mindset, one can achieve great heights. Her journey from being a CLAT topper to an IAS officer is not just a personal achievement but an inspiration for countless others who aspire to make a difference in the world.
