Health Minister: “There is no reason to delay NEET PG 2023, which will take place on March 5.”

Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, announced to the Lok Sabha on Friday that the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2023 will take place on March 5 as scheduled.

Mandaviya responded, “The exam date is March 5 and it was announced five months ago. Students who had to appear for the exam have been preparing for it already.” when questioned by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi if the exam will be postponed as desired by various organisations of doctors.

He added that the government had extended the deadline for internship applications to August 11 in order to guarantee that no student will be left behind to take the exam.

The academic timetable, which was thrown off course by the Covid-19 pandemic, is being put back on track, according to Mandaviya.

The minister warned that other schedules would be delayed if they postponed the exam.

Since the NEET PG internship cut-off was recently raised to August 11, 13,000 more candidates are now qualified to take the test.

After then, a few medical associations organised a protest to change the exam date.

The delegation from the doctor’s association was reportedly met by the union minister, who explained the situation to them.

The NEET PG registration window was been reopened by NBE, and aspirants have till February 12 to submit their applications.
