Year of academic transformation: The Uttar Pradesh Government to establish an Education Commission

The Yogi Government’s special focus, for this year, will be on the health sector, law and order, tourism, education, and infrastructure development. In the coming year, the government will prioritise making the state’s education system smarter through the use of cutting-edge technology.

On Tuesday, 2nd of January, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over an important meeting to establish the state education commission.  Senior officials, including the Principal Secretary for Higher Education, met to discuss the commission’s formation as well as new changes and formats in higher education, secondary education, and elementary education.

Following the adoption of the new education policy by the Centre, discussions in Uttar Pradesh began about the formation of an education commission. The Yogi Adityanath government announced that it will instal 4,600 health ATMs in all wellness centres and medical colleges across the state to strengthen the state’s health infrastructure.

With its introduction, patients will have access to 60 tests. Teleconsultation services will be available at health centres as well. Furthermore, all of the state’s PHCs and CHCs will be linked to SGPGI, eliminating the need for people to rush to the medical college for minor issues. At the same time, medical colleges will be established in almost all of the state’s districts in 2023.

Children will be educated through smart classes at the elementary, junior, and secondary levels, with each school receiving two tablets. Furthermore, beginning with the New Year, children’s attendance will be tracked through face reading. 77 textbooks will be available via QR code, and teachers will be given syllabus pocket charts.

At the state level, the Skilled India Monitoring Center will be established. To make the high school and intermediate board examinations more transparent, the vehicle transporting the question paper will be outfitted with GPS and its route will be predetermined.

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has prepared a landbank of more than 15,000 acres as part of the Yogi government’s goal of making the state a $ 1 trillion economy and strengthening infrastructure so that global companies visiting GIS-23 have no difficulty setting up plants and projects in the state. UPSIDA has also begun efforts to improve connectivity with the landbank. They have also begun the process of acquiring land from closed spinning mill units, 150 acres from Scooter India Lucknow, 500 acres from Ghaziabad, 250 acres from Hardoi, and other village societies. UPSIDA, on the other hand, is constructing dormitories and community toilets for industrial workers on a war footing.

“Gram Chaupal would be held in three-gram panchayats of each development block every Friday beginning in January, per the Chief Minister’s instructions. The District Development Officer, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, and Deputy Commissioner will attend the Choupal in each of the state’s 2500 villages to discuss employment and self-employment opportunities. The officers will also listen to and resolve villagers’ problems. In addition, a progress report on ongoing development projects will be prepared and submitted to the government, along with village requirements. In 2023, it will accelerate rural development efforts ” says G S Priyadarshani, Commissioner for Rural Development.
