Twitter Accounts Now Verified With Gold, Grey And Blue Ticks – What Does It Mean

Twitter has launched its updated verified subscription program which now allows accounts to have three different colour checkmarks – gold, grey and blue.

Previously, many Twitter accounts had blue ticks; today, they have gold checkmarks. To distinguish between business, personal, and government-affiliated accounts on Twitter, coloured checkmarks have been introduced.

What are the certified checkmarks in gold, grey, and blue?

  • Gold checks are intended for verified businesses or recognised business accounts.
  • For verified government accounts or accounts connected to the government that Twitter monitors, look for the grey checkmark.
  • Blue checks for individuals

Twitter subscription service in blue

For $8 for Android users and $11 for iPhone owners each month, Twitter Blue is a subscription service that includes verification. The firm announced that as of right now, when you subscribe, your account will have access to subscriber-only features including Edit Tweet, 1080p video uploads, reader mode, and a blue checkmark (once your account has been approved).

The microblogging site added: “Soon, subscribers with the blue checkmark will gain priority placement in search, mentions, and responses to help minimise the exposure of frauds, spam, and bots.”

Your Twitter account must be at least 90 days old and have a verified phone number in order to sign up for Blue badge. Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, previously stated that basic Blue will have half as many advertising.
