Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Government Declares Public Holiday On THIS Date | Here’s Why

Following the state’s byelections for the Lok Sabha and Assembly, the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday issued a notification announcing a public holiday on December 5 in election-bound constituencies.

Assembly by-elections will be held in the constituencies of Rampur and Khatauli, while the Lok Sabha by-elections will take place in the Uttar Pradesh parliamentary district of Mainpuri.

A statement in Hindi stated, ”Exercising the privileges obtained by Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 888 (Act No. 26 of 88), the Governor of Uttar Pradesh proclaims a public holiday for the Lok Sabha bypolls 2022 and Assembly bypolls 2022 in the specified districts.”

The byelections for the Assembly will take place for a total of 5 seats in the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chattisgarh, and Bihar.

Following the passing of legendary Samajwadi Party MP Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Mainpuri parliamentary district will hold elections.

Dimple Yadav, a former member of parliament and the spouse of party leader Akhilesh Yadav, has been nominated by the Samajwadi Party (SP) as its candidate for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat.

The Samajwadi Party Is regarded as having strongholds in Mainpuri.

The Deputy CM stated that the BJP would nominate one of its well-known figures for the upcoming Mainpuri bypolls in response to the Samajwadi Party’s intention to field Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav as a candidate.
