Goa-Based IoT Startup Spintly Secures 8 Million Dollar Funding Led by Accel to Scale Smart Building Solutions

In a significant development for the Indian deeptech and Internet of Things ecosystem, Goa headquartered physical security startup Spintly has successfully raised 8 million dollars in a recent funding round. The investment was led by prominent venture capital firm Accel, with strategic participation from Enrission India Capital, SucSEED Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and Chakra Growth Fund. This capital infusion underscores the growing investor confidence in indigenous hardware and software solutions targeting the global commercial real estate and enterprise security markets.

THE SHIFT TOWARDS WIRELESS ACCESS CONTROL
Founded in 2020 by industry veterans Rohin Parkar and Malcolm DSouza, Spintly focuses on modernizing physical security through wireless, cloud based access management. Traditional building security has heavily relied on extensive wiring, localized servers, and legacy hardware. Spintly disrupts this operational model by offering smartphone based, mobile first platforms. The proprietary wireless mesh architecture developed by the company eliminates the need for complex cabling. According to corporate statements, this deeptech innovation reduces overall project installation time and labor costs by up to 80 percent compared to conventional wired access systems.

PRODUCT ECOSYSTEM AND RETROFIT CAPABILITIES
The startup operates a vertically integrated business model, designing its hardware internally while collaborating with contract manufacturing partners located in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. The comprehensive product portfolio includes Bluetooth and NFC enabled access readers, QR code scanners, and advanced biometric devices featuring facial recognition capabilities. On the software front, the company provides sophisticated cloud based modules for attendance tracking, visitor management, and AI driven video surveillance.

A critical competitive advantage for Spintly is the backward compatibility of its systems. Chief Executive Officer Rohin Parkar, who brings over two decades of engineering experience from tech giants like Motorola and Nokia, emphasized that clients do not need to replace their existing infrastructure. The Spintly architecture can be retrofitted on top of legacy access systems, allowing enterprises to execute a gradual digital transition without incurring massive hardware replacement costs.

GLOBAL EXPANSION AND CAPITAL UTILIZATION
While India remains Spintlys primary market with over 500 active enterprise clients, the company is aggressively expanding its international footprint. The startup has already secured nearly 100 corporate clients in the United States and is actively penetrating the Middle Eastern market.

The newly raised 8 million dollars will be strategically deployed to scale sales, marketing, and business development operations across these three core geographies. Furthermore, a substantial portion of the capital will be directed toward dedicated Research and Development. The engineering teams plan to enhance the Artificial Intelligence capabilities within their smart building modules, optimizing automated security protocols and facility management analytics.

MARKET POTENTIAL AND INVESTOR OUTLOOK
The global access control and smart building sector has historically been dominated by European and American incumbents. However, Indian deeptech firms are increasingly capturing global market share through cost effective, highly scalable innovations. Barath Shankar Subramanian, Partner at Accel, highlighted the structural shifts in the industry. He noted that traditional access control scales poorly with building size due to wiring and hardware friction. Spintly resolves this operational bottleneck by decoupling access infrastructure from physical construction cycles, enabling rapid deployment across distributed workspaces.

This successful funding round positions Spintly as a formidable player in the global IoT and PropTech landscape. By leveraging domestic manufacturing, advanced cloud architecture, and a capital efficient deployment model, the company exemplifies the potential of Indian startups to build scalable enterprise solutions for global markets.
