CBSE Holds Principals’ Workshop

In a significant move to enhance student welfare, the CBSE holds principals’ workshop titled ‘Parenting for Students’ Well-Being’ on September 26 at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi. The workshop brought together around 150 principals from CBSE schools across Delhi and NCR, focusing on strategies to support students’ emotional and psychological health through effective parenting.

According to a CBSE statement, the event featured expert-led sessions that emphasized the crucial role of parenting in shaping students’ well-being. Himanshu Gupta, Secretary, CBSE, opened the workshop by stressing the importance of collaboration between schools and parents to foster a healthy environment for students.

CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh addressed the evolving challenges faced by today’s parents and highlighted the necessity for schools to actively engage with families. He emphasized that parenting is an evolving responsibility and that sharing knowledge across generations plays a vital role in ensuring a child’s happiness and development.

Rohit Kumar, a personal growth facilitator, provided insights into the emotional and mental health needs of students, while Sonia Pillai, an executive coach, discussed practical strategies for fostering open communication between parents and their children. Anuradha Joshi, Principal of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, also shared valuable strategies to support the emotional needs of students.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session where principals discussed specific challenges and shared their insights on how to create a nurturing environment for student well-being. The CBSE reiterated its commitment to holistic student development, aligning the workshop’s goals with the National Education Policy 2020.

This CBSE principals’ workshop marks another step in empowering school leaders with tools to assist parents in nurturing the emotional health of students.
