Amit Shah to launch Hindi medical education syllabus in Bhopal on October 16

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch a medical education course in Hindi language in Madhya Pradesh at a program to be organized at Motilal Nehru Stadium here on October 16.

State Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang said that the Union Home Minister will unveil the textbooks of Hindi course of medical education during a program at Motilal Nehru Stadium.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while reviewing the preparations for the program on Thursday said that it was a program to establish the pride of the mother tongue and a historic event to change the mindset of the people that medical can also be taught in Hindi and not only in English.” Chouhan further said that in the coming days, besides medical education, engineering, nursing and paramedical courses will also be taught in Hindi in the state.

Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, additional chief secretary Health Mohammad Suleman and officers of various departments were present in the meeting held at the CM’s residence office.

The CM said people should be involved in this program to change their thinking regarding language. Various scholars related to Hindi teaching should be invited specially.

The chief minister directed to ensure participation of maximum number of people in the programme, especially Hindi experts, as it is aimed at changing the mindset of people towards the language.

Speaking about the syllabus, Sarang said, “The first volume of books for subjects such as physiology, biochemistry and anatomy are ready and students studying in the first year of MBBS, will be given these books.” Textbooks for the three subjects were readied by a team of experts, he said, adding that the second volume of these books was being prepared.

Books are being prepared in such a manner that technical terms such as blood pressure, spine, heart, kidney and liver or other important body parts and related terms are written in Hindi as they are pronounced in English. They will also be written in brackets in English,” said Sarang, who was behind the initiative.

He said that the textbooks are prepared in such a way that MBBS students are not left behind after completing the syllabus, as they will learn all the technical and medical terms in English and Hindi. The minister said that in the first year physiology, anatomy and biochemistry are mainly taught to the students.
