Wireless Charging Technology

Wireless charging technology also known as inductive charging allows device to charge without the need for physical connector or cables. It holds a great significance in future both in terms of convenience as well as efficiency. It basically focuses in the elimination of cables and wires reducing wear and tear and improving users convenience. This reduction of cables wires and connectors will be somehow environmental friendly as well.

Principle of wireless charging technology:

1: Electromagnetic induction

Wireless charger generate an electromagnetic field using a coil in charging pad. When a device with a compatible receiver coil is placed near the charger the magnetic field induces an electric current in the receiver coil which is then converted into direct current to charge the device’s battery.

2: Resonant Inductive Coupling

A charging station injects an oscillating current into a coil which creates an oscillating electromagnetic field a second coil with the same resonant frequency receives power from this field and converts it back into an electrical current.

3: Magnetic resonance

Magnetic resonance allows charging at slightly longer distance or with less precise alignment between the transmitter and receiver the energy transfer happens when both coils resonate at the same frequency even if the device is not in perfect contact with charger.

4: Near field and far field wireless charging

This is the most common form and works at close range typically using inductive coupling. Far field charging less common but in development for charging devices over longer distances, it uses technique like radio frequency waves to transfer over several meters.

5: Qi Standard

The most widely used wireless charging standard today is Qi developed by the wireless power consortium. It uses inductive charging and requires devices to be placed on a charging pad.

Applications

All modern and upcoming generation phones support wireless charging they use the Qi standard simply by placing the phones on a wireless charging pad charges battery. Most of the smartwatches also use wireless charging and had eliminated the primitive way of charging thus making the watches more convenient and efficient as they become more water resistant. Not only in consumers electronics, wireless charging plays an important role in healthcare sector where reliability and safety are paramount. Implantable medical devices such as pacemakers neurostimulators and insulin pumps are now being designed with wireless charging capabilities which allows patients to recharge their devices without invasive procedures to replace batteries.

This has reduced the risk associated with surgical interventions. Beyond personal and medical use our governments can construct roads or certain areas on road that enables wireless charging. While the vehicles are waiting on signals they can automatically charge themselves as One of the most exciting and transformative applications of wireless charging lies in the automotive industry particularly for electric vehicles

This is one of the most growing market due to environmental concerns and government policies that aims to reduce carbon. However one of the challenges facing EVs is the need for convenient and efficient charging infrastructure. Wireless charging technology offers a potential solution by allowing EVs to charge without the need for bulky cables and manual plugging.

Today many companies are making wireless charging pads for garage. In public parking spaces are being equipped with wireless charging pads this can make them more efficient by significantly extending there range without stopping for long sessions. They also play significant role in autonomous vehicles enabling them to charge with human intervention.

Conclusion

Wireless charging has become a key technology across multiple industries. Its applications are far reaching offering convenience to the consumers in their day to day life.

What Are Stem Cells?

Stem cells are unspecialized cells that can divide through mitosis an unlimited number of times. Each new cell can either stay a stem cell or transform into a specialized cell, such as a nerve or red blood cell, through differentiation. The ability of a stem cell to differentiate into specialized cells depends on its potency. […]
