Vedanta appoints Omar Davis as President - Strategy

London / New Delhi, 16 March 2023: Vedanta, a leading natural resources, renewables, power transmission, technology and networking solutions provider, has appointed Omar Davis as President – Strategy. He will work closely with Vedanta Chairman, Anil Agarwal, to lead the group’s strategic initiatives and will be based out of the group’s London office.

Omar is a seasoned natural resources banker with 25 years of experience in the industry.  Most recently, prior to his appointment, he worked with Bank of America as the bank’s Global Head of Metals & Mining for Corporate and Investment Banking.

Announcing the appointment, Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta Group said, “We welcome Omar to our company with responsibility for overseeing strategy for the group. Omar has a strong experience in advising large scale, multi-faceted global companies and we are delighted to have him on board and look forward to making use of his experience across our group. His leadership skills and strategic acumen will be of immense value in driving Vedanta’s growth vision.”

Omar will spearhead key initiatives for the group’s growth opportunities focused on value creation. He will also lead engagement with globally recognized and leading financial partners and drive synergies as Vedanta progresses with its vision to unlock value across its asset base.

Omar holds an M.A. from Oxford University in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (P.P.E.)
