Following the state’s byelections for the Lok Sabha and Assembly, the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday issued a notification announcing a public holiday on December 5 in election-bound constituencies.
Assembly by-elections will be held in the constituencies of Rampur and Khatauli, while the Lok Sabha by-elections will take place in the Uttar Pradesh parliamentary district of Mainpuri.
A statement in Hindi stated, ”Exercising the privileges obtained by Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 888 (Act No. 26 of 88), the Governor of Uttar Pradesh proclaims a public holiday for the Lok Sabha bypolls 2022 and Assembly bypolls 2022 in the specified districts.”
