NEET UG 2023 Topper:
Prabhanjan J created a remarkable milestone for his state on Tuesday evening by becoming the first candidate from Tamil Nadu to achieve the highest score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). He shares this achievement with Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh, both scoring a perfect 720. Prabhanjan attributes his exceptional performance to intensive preparation using NEET-style questions. This is a significant moment for Tamil Nadu as it marks the first time since NEET became compulsory in 2017 that candidates from the state have secured the first and third positions in the test. Additionally, this is only the third occurrence in NEET’s history where candidates have achieved a perfect score, with the previous instances happening in 2020 and 2021.
Challenging the perception of NEET’s difficulty, Prabhanjan stated, “Many people believe NEET to be extremely tough, but with practice, I managed to overcome it.” He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his teachers, parents, and the school management for their unwavering support throughout his journey. After completing Class 10 under the Tamil Nadu state matriculation (English medium) system, Prabhanjan transitioned to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for his higher secondary education. It was during this period of rigorous NEET coaching that he acquired the necessary skills to tackle the examination. Prabhanjan resided in the hostel at Velammal Vidyalaya, Ayanambakkam, Chennai, where he completed his 11th and 12th grades.
Both of Prabhanjan’s parents are government school teachers. His father, B Jagadeesh, teaches history, while his mother teaches mathematics. Prabhanjan achieved a score of 463 or 92.6% in his Class 12 Board exams.
