Ed-tech platform, BYJU’s has appointed football player Lionel Messi as its first global brand ambassador of its social impact arm ‘Education For All’.
The hiring was disclosed by the firm in a statement released on Friday. Messi, the Argentine football team’s captain and a player for Paris Saint-Germain, has partnered with BYJU’S to advance the cause of fair education, according to a release.
As our global ambassador, Lionel Messi has worked with us. He worked his way up from the bottom to become one of the greatest athletes ever. For the approximately 5.5 million kids it presently empowers, BYJU’S Education For All (EFA) hopes to generate opportunities like that. Lionel Messi is the best example of the ability to maximise human potential. BYJU’S co-founder Divya Gokulnath stated.
The engagement of BYJU’s with Messi will enhance visibility of the ed-tech firm overseas as football has roughly 3.5 billion fans worldwide, and Lionel Messi has a social media following of nearly 450 million.
‘It is not really surprising that the greatest player of all time is also the greatest learner of all time. I am sure this partnership will inspire millions of people around the world to dream bigger and learn better,’ Gokulnath said.
BYJU’S was named the official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar earlier this year. The statement read, “The long-term engagement begins as Lionel Messi embarks on his final quest to win the FIFA World Cup 2022 as captain of Argentina’s national football team, and will see him feature in campaigns promoting BYJU’S Education For All.”
Quality education has the power to change people’s lives, and BYJU’S has helped millions of students all over the world shift their career choices. I want to motivate students to excel and stay there,’ Messi remarked.
