Gurgaon Government Schools to Revolutionize Learning with AI Curriculum Rollout

Gurgaon, India — Starting the upcoming academic session, government schools in Gurgaon will begin integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their curriculum, pioneering a transformative shift in education. Spearheaded by the Haryana Education Department, this initiative introduces AI modules for Class 9, to be rolled out to Classes 10–12 in due sequence.

What Makes It Groundbreaking?

Embedded AI in Core Subjects
Instead of adding a new subject, AI content (40–45 minutes per class) will be woven into five existing subjects—boosting creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy across curricula.

Empowering Teachers with Training

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has developed a five-day training module. Around 100,000 teachers will be trained in phased rollout, with local master trainers leading the effort. This includes skills in prompt engineering, classroom use, digital materials, and evaluation techniques.

Aligned with NEP 2020 Goals

The initiative echoes the NEP 2020 vision—preparing students not just to consume, but to create technology, and equipping them for real-world challenges.

Why This Is a Game Changer

The move transcends traditional digital education (emailing, file downloads) to introduce data handling, coding fundamentals, and AI applications—preparing students for careers in engineering, data science, and beyond.

Student voices reflect the excitement: “AI sounded like something only tech experts used. Now we’ll get to learn it in our own classroom!” — Sakshi Verma, Class 10; and Mohit Kumar, Class 12, highlighting how AI makes school feel more connected to real life.
