NEET-PG Postponement: Candidates Petition Supreme Court for Single Batch Examination

NEET-PG Postponement: Candidates Petition Supreme Court for Single Batch Examination

A petition for NEET-PG Postponement has been filed in the Supreme Court, seeking to delay the NEET-PG 2024 examination scheduled for August 11, 2024. The candidates are advocating for the exam to be conducted in a single batch to ensure a fair and uniform testing environment for all participants.

The petitioners have approached the Supreme Court with a request to conduct the NEET-PG exam in one batch instead of two. They argue that conducting the exam in multiple batches could result in one group of candidates facing a more challenging question paper than the other, which would lead to an unfair testing scenario.

The candidates are also concerned about the normalization formula used when exams are conducted in multiple batches. They assert that the lack of transparency in the normalization process could adversely affect their scores, hence the necessity for a single batch examination to maintain fairness and uniformity.

Additionally, the petition highlights the logistical challenges faced by many candidates. The petitioners claim that numerous candidates have been assigned test centers in cities that are difficult to reach. The test cities were allocated on July 31, and the centers are scheduled to be announced on August 8. While this short notice was intended to prevent malpractice, it has created significant difficulties for students in arranging travel to these cities.

The plea emphasizes the need for a more equitable and transparent allocation of test centers, preferably closer to the candidates’ locations to reduce travel-related stress and complications.

Adding to the anxiety of the students, an official notice from the medical exam body, NBEMS, was allegedly leaked before its official publication on their website. The All FMG Association reported that this notice, which pertains to crucial details about the NEET-PG exam, was circulated unofficially days before the scheduled release. This incident has raised concerns among the candidates as NBEMS has yet to officially release any notice regarding the NEET-PG on its website.

The petitioners are urging the Supreme Court to intervene and mandate that the NEET-PG 2024 exam be conducted in a single batch. This measure would help ensure that all candidates are assessed under the same conditions, thereby promoting a fair and equitable testing environment. The petitioners believe that addressing these concerns is essential for maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring that all candidates have an equal opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities.
